Lodsys, the company that operates high-profile patent infringement against many in the technology sector, has expanded its legal attack to include adidas, Best Buy and other reputable companies.
previous objectives of the company include IOS and Android developers, Samsung, Hewlett-Packard, Brother, and Motorola. Now the list is much longer, with a filing Friday, naming Sam's Club, Best Western, Black & Decker Container Store, Teaching Company, Vitamin Shoppe, Vegas.com, Adidas, CVS, and Best Buy.
The movement is not a complete surprise. Lodsys Adidas has sent a letter on April 19 said it has infringed four patents. And last week, a Michigan company called Results Provide subject to a declaratory decision on Lodsys. Anticipating the names Adidas, Best Buy customers who received letters saying they Lodsys use technology protected by patents.
